Can I register my litter with SDRS, LLC and is the litter eligible for AKC registration?

All litters that are registered with SDRS, LLC are eligible for AKC registration. The litter papers may only be used in conjunction with the Open Registration Form to register the puppies.

The following registries are considered approved registries for litter applications, however, they are not guaranteed to be accepted:

• Miniature American Shepherd (AKC/FSS)
  North American Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of the USA (NAMASCUSA)
  Stock Dog Registry Services (SDRS, LLC)
• International Herding Dog Association (IHDA)
  United Kennel Club (UKC)
  National Stock Dog Registry (NSDR)
  Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of America (MASCA)
  American Stock Dog Registry (ASDR)
  International Miniature Australian Shepherd Club (IMASC)

Do the sire and dam need to be registered with the same registry?

No, they can be a combination of the approved registries.

For example, the sire and dam could be registered with the following registry combinations:

NAMASCUSA/SDRS, LLC and NAMASCUSA/SDRS, LLC

NAMASCUSA/SDRS, LLC and other approved registry

NAMASCUSA/SDRS, LLC and AKC Miniature American Shepherd

AKC Miniature American Shepherd and other approved registry

Other approved registry and other approved registry.

What crosses can’t use the litter application form?

Miniature American Shepherd X Miniature American Shepherd. This litter combination must be registered with the American Kennel Club by using their Litter Application.

Note – Any litter whelped after December 31, 2014, that has an Australian Shepherd parent is Not Eligible to be registered.
